The Story

Alice Deal Middle School opened in 1931 and was named after Alice Deal, a longtime DC educator who served as a teacher and principal in the DC public school system for over 40 years. The school was built in the Colonial Revival style and sits on a prominent hilltop site in Forest Hills. Deal has grown to become one of the largest and most sought-after middle schools in the District, serving students from across Upper Northwest. A major renovation and expansion was completed in 2017.
