Metropolitan Memorial has been called the 'National Methodist Church' due to its location in the capital and historic significance. The church dates to 1852, and President Lincoln contributed to the purchase of the original land. The current sanctuary was dedicated on February 7, 1932, and features beautiful Gothic architecture.
