The Story

The original Tenley-Friendship Library opened in 1928 as part of the expansion of DC's public library system into developing neighborhoods. The current building, opened in 2010, replaced the 1950s-era structure and was designed as a green, sustainable facility. It was one of the first LEED Gold certified libraries in the District.
